Trivia

Welcome to the Trivia page. This is where you start to delve into the depths of my quirky mind to see what really interests me!

This page started when I was wondering what to do next (after the Food, Thailand and Hash pages). Looking through some of my favourite links I decided that it might be worth putting them on a page for you to view. As this page builds up I may even consider categorising them as well. Meanwhile you'll find them placed in random order - it's just up to you to browse through them to see if anything interests you as well.

Don't forget, if you have a site that you feel will fit onto this page then please email me and I'll try to include it in the next update.

How Stuff Works - How Stuff Works is exactly what it describes itself as: a single destination for the answer to how virtually everything works--and that means anything from jet engines, chocolate, HDTV and safe cracking to space shuttles, light sticks and Aspirin; you name it and it's probably there.

Wikipedia - An excellent source of knowledge in the form of an 'open source' on-line encyclopedia. You are invited to submit entries or to modify existing entries. Many languages are supported and the project is growing rapidly day by day.

Wikiquote - A free online compendium of quotations in every language, including sources (where known), translations of non-English quotes, and links to Wikipedia. Some of my favourite quotations (at present) are:

Lao Tzu - "He who knows does not speak; he who speaks does not know."

Bob Dylan - "Take care of all your memories. For you cannot relive them."

Homer Simpson (to Bart) - "Son, when you participate in sporting events, it's not whether you win or lose: it's how drunk you get."

Blackadder (to Baldrick) - "Your head is as empty as a eunuch's underpants."

World Wide Words - A fascinating site dedicated to the origin, meaning and usage (or misusage) of words in the English language. If you have ever wondered what a 'Termamgant' is or queried where 'Honeyfuggle' comes from, or even asked yourself when the expression to be 'On one's Tod' was first used, then this is the place for you.

FunTrivia - Trivia quizzes on every topic from Harry Potter to Particle Physics - and everything in between. If you are into answering oddball questions (and learning a few things at the same time), visit this site - but make sure that you have plenty of time on your hands as it's highly addictive.
